'Incognito Mode' Is Coming To YouTube App, APK Teardown Reveals - Fossbytes

You might have used the incognito mode or private mode mostly in the case of web browsers. It prevents web browsers from storing a users’ history and other data while they browse the web.

Now, just like Gboard, another Google-made Android app about to get the incognito mode is YouTube Android app, and possibly its iOS sibling also. The possible hint towards the incognito mode feature was first spotted by 9to5Google in the APK teardown of YouTube 13.01.

Currently, in the YouTube app, users have the options to pause their watch history and search history. But the addition of the dedicated incognito mode would make things easier for the users by turning off the options in one go. 9to5Google also found a circular incognito icon in the APK which would be used to show whether the mode is enabled or not.

Apart from this, the YouTube app could also get support for the dark theme which debuted on the desktop version last year and just now on YouTube for iOS. Upcoming YouTube updates would also make it easier for the users to skip advertisements, just by swiping them, instead of tapping that small skip button in the corner.
